About Me

Welcome to my baking blog!  My name is Shannon and I am an AVID baker!  I am a wife, a working Mom and I have an immense love for baking (not to mention eating it)! 

I recently decided to begin an adventure into the world of baking and desserts of all kinds in hopes of fulfilling my insatiable love for all things sweet.  My enthusiasm for baking began a few years ago when I was staying at home full-time with my daughter Ami.  My passion has continued and my desire to explore and master the art and science of baking seems to grow more and more each day.  I finally realized that I needed an outlet and source for documenting my ongoing journey of discovering this sweet love of mine and that the possibilities for learning are endless!

I love sharing my passion with others: friends, family and especially Ami.  Ami and I love spending time together in the kitchen creating delicious sweets of all kinds…we’re quite the baking team and I couldn’t ask for more special quality time.

We live in Denver, Colorado (The Mile High City) which promotes great challenges with baking due to the high-altitude.  The air is much thinner here than at sea level so I am constantly modifying recipes in order to keep them moist and rising perfectly…trust me, this has been one of the biggest challenges for me and in no way have I perfected the skill!  I consider this blog a reflection of my work in progress to becoming a skilled baker.  My biggest success is when my final product comes out of the oven completely moist and delicious with just the right texture and flavor.  In most of my posts, I will provide both the original recipe as well as any high-altitude modifications that I might have made along the way. 

Once I made the decision to start a blog, I realized that the challenges didn’t end with the baking!!  Learning the art of blogging is no easy feat…designing the blog, writing the content, photographing the dessert & displaying the confection in an irresistible manner are all a part of what makes a blog memorable.  Please bear with me during my learning process as I am bound to stumble along the way.
